La Flor de Yucatán was founded by Antonio Burgos A.K.A "Lindo", and his wife Rosy. The business began when in the late 60's, Antonio baked out of his home kitchen in Pasadena, and would then sell the items door to door and later out of his first vehicle. His baked goods were so popular that he opened up his first store in 1971 on Pico & Union in Los Angeles, and four years later in 1975, he moved into the bakery's current location. In 1997 Antonio's and Rosy's oldest son, Marc, began to operate the established business, and most recently in 2008 their daughter Annie, took the decision to join her brother.
As can be seen, La Flor de Yucatán,continues to be family owned andhas become much more than just a bakery. Thanks to Marc's influences, La Flor de Yucatan, has been called "A hidden culinary gem", giving the public the opportunity to enjoy delicious authentic Mayan dishes, with a flavor not found anywhere else, but Yucatán itself!
